Abstract
One stage first Stokes amplification by a factor of 1600 was demonstrated in a barium nitrate Raman amplifier. The amplified pulse energy was up to 63 mJ at pump energy of 208 mJ. M2 factor of Stokes signal radiation was 1.5 while for amplified radiation 2.2.
