Abstract

We observed an intermolecular energy transfer from polydihexylsilane (PDHS) to poly bis( p-propoxyphenyl)silane (PBPPS) in both PDHS/PBPPS double layer and blend films by utilizing photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy for the first time. Decrease in the intensity of PDHS emission and increase in that of PBPPS emission occurred in the PDHS/PBPPS double layer film. In case of the PDHS/PBPPS blend film, unusual conformational change in the backbone of PDHS was observed due to the co-existence of PBPPS molecules. The PL excitation spectra and time resolved PL measurement indicate that the resonant energy transfer process dominates the entire transfer process.
