Abstract
The reconstruction of factories involves not only the construction of new facilities, but also dismantling old equipment and structures in the direct sense: tearing down old walls, removing roofs, and destroying foundations… This work is often complicated by the proximity of shops, equipment, and underground mains that are still in use. Explosives of the NRS type cannot be used, while mechanical chipping hammers and chemical powders are unproductive and are far from always successful in “taking out” old but well-reinforced foundations of buildings and installations at metallurgical plants, automobile factories, atomic power plants, chemical plants, and factories in other branches of industry.
