Abstract

Here in this work, the synthesis of bioinspired iron oxide nanoparticles (B-FeO NPs) from Terminalia Chebula seed extract for studying the electro-optical properties was carried out. For this, the B-FeO NPs was electrodeposited onto the indium-tin-oxide (ITO) glass substrate electrophoretically and deliberate for the determination of electrochemical properties by utilizing differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), cyclic voltammetry (CV), and scan rate studies using CV, and for optical properties, methylene blue (MB) dye degradation studies were carried out using colorimetry analysis. Further, the structural, optical, and morphological analysis of bioinspired B-FeO NPs were characterized by FT-IR, UV–Vis, XRD, SEM, AFM, and EDX. From these studies, it was proven that the B-FeO NPs have a very potential utility as a photocatalytic material for MB dye degradation, and it also exhibited potential electrochemical behavior, which makes it a prospective material for label-free electrochemical sensing of ascorbic acid, hydrogen peroxide, hydrazine, etc. with higher sensitive and specificity.
