Abstract

In recent years, one of the main concerns in wireless sensor network (WSN) has been energy efficiency of node deployment. In this paper, we propose a method based on multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) theory, intending to comprehensively evaluate efficiency and select efficient deployment scheme for clustering protocols of WSN. The deployment scheme means setting of parameters such as area of field in which sensor nodes are deployed, number of sensor nodes and density of sensor nodes, used in scenarios design of node deployment for one protocol. TOPSIS, one of MCDM methods, is used in efficient scheme selection. Simulations show that this method is effective to select efficient deployment scheme among many different deployment schemes.
