Abstract
In research community vehicular networks are very popular these days as in many countries vehicles are interested in downloading and updating data at Road Side Units (RSUs). As RSUs are used as router to forward data of vehicles to outside world and RSUs are also equally used as buffer points to forward data of one vehicle to other vehicles moving across the road. In the proposed work RSUs are used as buffer points to forward data to RSU and receive data from RSU in such a way that the most suitable vehicle gets priority over other vehicles to deal with RSU. The scheduling of requests submitted is very important as RSUs have very limited communication range so have limited time to service vehicle across road. Several schemes proposed in past regarding scheduling of data at RSU. In the proposed work an effective scheduling mechanism has been proposed which takes care of those requests whose deadline has yet to expire and also the proposed algorithm outperforms to serve those vehicles which have either just passed from the service area or about to enter in the service area. This scheme outperforms in congested city traffic and has moderate results in highway scenario.
