Abstract

Adaptive Maximum Torque Per Amp control strategy was proved to be one of control strategies to drive induction motor in high efficiency. This control strategy is based on Alternate QD Model which represents mathematical model of induction motor in highly good accuracy. However, the control strategy was validated only at heavy load of 150 Nm. Thus, in this work, efficiency of Alternate QD Model based Adaptive MTPA Control for IM drive is investigated at a light load. The experimental result shows that Adaptive Maximum Torqpe Per Amp control strategy satisfies the tracking performance and maximum torque per amp condition, thus indicating efficiency operation at light load.
