Abstract

Investigations of the influence of methanol content in methanol—gasoline blends on engine efficiency have been carried out. It is shown that the higher the methanol content in the blend, the higher the engine efficiency. Among possible reasons for the increased efficiency is that combustion losses are lower for higher methanol content in the blend. Estimation of combustion losses are discussed herein.
