Abstract
Application of induced polarization (IP) method for the search of oil and gas deposits began practically simultaneously in Soviet Union and abroad. The first work, showing the efficiency in use of IP method for the search of oil and gas structures, was probably the work of Z.D.Kruglova and A.K.Boguslavsky, published in 1969. From 1970 on present time there were several publications, confirming efficiency of EP method, among them follows to note generalizing work of R.C.Cejfullin (1987), who noted, that American, Hungarian and Chinese scientists received the similar results. The analysis of borehole materials has shown, that the IP anomalies are connected with sulphide minerals, forming (practically always) a halo above oil and gas structures. Sometimes these halos contain minerals with high magnetic properties.
