Abstract

A simple application of catalytic afterburning for air cleaning has been studied with electrically heated wires with catalytically active surfaces. The influence of the most important reaction parameters on pollutant conversion is shown. An air cleaning efficiency parameter is defined, which allows a direkt comparison of different reactors. The improvement of air cleaning efficiency is demonstrated with different reactor designs.
