Abstract

Recently, anode gas recycle (AGR) is spotlighted as one of the efficiency-enhancing methods on SOFCs. However, performance of SOFCs under AGR conditions has not been sufficiently evaluated, because of experimental complexity. In this work, an influence on SOFCs by introducing AGR is investigated experimentally. In order to facilitate experiment, we developed equipment which can easily synthesize reformate gases of both AGR and no AGR conditions with high accuracy. By using this equipment, an efficiency gain by introducing AGR is quantitatively elucidated, comparing SOFC performance between with and without AGR conditions under high fuel utilization. In addition, dependency of AGR SOFC performance on fuel utilization is also investigated. This paper will present details of these results.
