Abstract

Underwater AC diaphragm discharge is energy efficient tool for decontamination of organic compounds from aqueous solutions. This work is focused on the investigation of the electrical energy dissipation channels of the underwater AC diaphragm discharge and it chemical efficiency i.e. production of reactive species in aqueous solutions. Experimental results showed that more than 55% of total energy is consumed by heating of a solution and around 23% is used for the chemical reactions.
