Abstract

PURPOSE: The treatment of recurrent pleural effusion or recurrent pneumothorax frequently involves the creation of a pleurodesis. Advances in the technology have greatly improved the imaging capabilities of ultrasound (US). Ultrasound is an efficient imaging modality for the evaluation of a wide variety of chest diseases. The purposes of this study are: (1)To investigate whether US can be used for the diagnosis of pleurodesis. (2)To confirm which US image is the most important feature to diagnosis pleurodesis.
