Abstract

Abstract A sterile red fungus which had demonstrated potential to promote plant growth and reduce take-all of wheat in glasshouse trials was tested for its performance in the field. It showed considerable promise as a biocontrol agent in the field, reducing take-all at all three levels of inoculum used. It also promoted plant growth and increased grain yield, especially at high inoculum levels.
