Abstract

Backgrounds and Aims: Recently as minimal invasive surgery is performed widely, there is increasing necessity of preoperative localization by capsule endoscopy (CE). However, the localization of small bowel lesions by CE is known to be difficult. And few systematic data of localization methods by CE is reported. Thus we evaluated efficacy of our own transit time method for localization of small bowel lesions by CE in surgically confirmed cases. Patients and Methods: Between October 2002 and January 2006, 18 patients were examined by capsule endoscopy for small bowel pathology, and confirmed by laparoscopic or laparoscopy assisted surgery.
