Abstract

The field efficacy of novaluro, a potential chitin synthesis inhibitor viz., 10 SC and 10 EC was evaluated under field conditions against green semilooper, Chrysodeixis acuta (Walker) infesting soybean during kharif 2007 and 2008. Application of 10 EC @ 500 ml/ha was found most effective with 0.72 larvae per meter row length followed by 0.83 larvae/mrl in novaluron 10 SC @ 500 ml/ha and novaluron 10 EC @ 375 ml/ha. Highest seed yield (1180 kg/ha) was recorded in novaluron 10 EC @ 500 ml/ha followed by 10 SC @ 500 ml/ha and 10 EC @ 375 ml/ha. The maximum net return (Rs.7035/ha) was obtained from of novaluron 10 EC @ 500 ml/ha.
