Abstract

Objective To investigate the efficacy of milrinone assisted pulmonary ventilation in the treatment of neonatal persistent pulmonary hypertension (PPHN) and its effects on levels of pulmonary artery systolic pressure (PASP), serum tissue inhibitors of metaslloproteinases-1 (TIMP-1) and matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2) in newborns. Methods A total of 96 cases of children with PPHN in Huangshi Central Hospital from March 2017 to March 2018 were randomly divided into experimental group and control group according to the order of admission, with 48 cases in each group. They were treated with milrinone assisted pulmonary ventilation and single use of lung ventilation respectively. After 3 d of treatment, the total effective rate of treatment was compared between the two groups. The levels of cardiac function indexes including PASP and systemic systolic blood pressure (SBP), blood gas analysis indexes, such as partial pressure of carbon dioxide (PaCO2), partial pressure of blood oxygen (PaO2), oxygen saturation (SaO2), pH value, serum biochemical indicators including including TIMP-1 and MMP-2 were recorded before treatment and after 3 d of treatment. Results After 3 d of treatment, the total effective rate of treatment in experimental group was higher than that in control group (P<0.05). The PASP in the two groups was significantly lower than that before treatment (P all<0.05), while the SBP was significantly higher than that before treatment (P all<0.05). And the changes of the two indexes in experimental group were larger than those in control group (P<0.05). The PaCO2 in the two groups was significantly lower than that before treatment (P all<0.05), while the PaO2, SaO2 and PH value were higher than those before treatment (P all<0.05), and the changes of the above indexes in experimental group were larger than those in control group (P all<0.05). The levels of serum TIMP-1 and MMP-2 in the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment (all P<0.05), and the decreases were larger in experimental group (P<0.05). Conclusions Milrinone assisted pulmonary ventilation has exact efficacy in the treatment of PPHN, and it can effectively reduce PASP and improve the cardiopulmonary function.
