Abstract

Background: GERD can be diagnosed either by typical symptoms or by an evidence of esophageal injury. Endoscopy is the major tool for assessing esophageal injury. However, there are significant limitations of standard white light endoscopy. The Fujinon intelligent chromo endoscopy (FICE) is the technique that used high-resolution endoscope with adjustable wavelength to improve detection of the abnormal lesions. Aim: To evaluate the efficacy of FICE for minimal mucosal breaks detection in patients with GERD.Method: 9 control subjects and 21 patients with typical reflux symptoms were participated in this study.
