Abstract

Studies on the field efficacy of insecticide mixture chlorantraniliprole 4.3% + abamectin 1.7% SC against major pest of tomato viz., Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner), Spodoptera litura (F.), Liriomyza trifolii (Burgess) and Tetranychus urticae (Koch) were carried out during 2011 and 2012. This mixture at 60, 36 and 30 g a.i. ha−1 was superior in reducing the fruit damage which was in the range of 95.41 to 92.43% in first season after two rounds of spraying and 96.57 to 95.02% in second season after three rounds of spraying. It also better than the checks viz., chlorantraniliprole 18.5 SC at 30 g a.i. ha−1, abamectin 1.9 EC at 15 g a.i. ha−1 and lamda cyhalothrin 4.9 CS at 15 g a.i. ha−1. Chlorantraniliprole 4.3% + abamectin 1.7% SC mixture 100% reduction of S. litura to an extent of 48.66–78.28% reduction of leaf miner damage and 89.73–99.36% reduction in leaf miner population. In T. urticae population Chlorantraniliprole + abamectin did not cause any phytotoxicity symptoms.
