Abstract

Abstract This trial was conducted at White Mountain Country Club, Ashland, NH. Four replications of 5 treatments were applied to a bluegrass fairway on 24 Jun. Initial counts of anthills were done prior to treatment. Each plot was 140 ft2, and arranged in an RCB form. All formulations were applied with a 2-wheel bicycle-type boom sprayer equipped with 4 spray heads; each head was fitted with an 8005 flat fan-type nozzle and a 50-mesh strainer. CO2 was used for pressure at 40 psi. The volume of water and insecticide per plot was 2 gal/1000 ft2. Weather conditions (10 am) were as follows: air temp, 70CF; sky, overcast; wind, 6 mph. Soil conditions were as follows: texture, silt loam; sand, 34%; silt, 54%; clay, 12%; moisture, 24%; organic matter, 6.2%, pH, 5.5. Each plot was rated by counting all active anthills prior to spraying and then 7 and 14 DAT.
