Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical effects and safety of agomelatine in treatment of anxiety and depression. Methods A total of 200 patients with anxiety and depression admitted to the Sixth People’s Hospital of Datong from March 2016 to March 2018 were selected. The patients were divided into anxiety group and depression group according to their specific diagnoses, with 100 cases in each group. All patients were treated with agomelatine for 8 weeks. The clinical effects and adverse reactions of the two group were observed and compared. Results The two groups completed 8 weeks of treatment successfully. During the period, there were no abnormal circumstances such as interruption of treatment, accidental death, voluntary withdrawal and so on. The total effective rates of clinical treatment in anxiety group and depression group were 91.00% and 89.00%, respectively and there was no significant difference (P>0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions caused by drugs between the two groups during treatment (P>0.05). Conclusions Agomelatine can achieve significant results in the treatment of anxiety and depression, and effectively ensure the safety of clinical medicationfor patients.
