Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of stent assisted coil embolization in the treatment of intracranial wide neck aneurysm. Methods 80 patients with intracranial wide neck aneurysm admitted in our hospital from July 2015 to July 2016 were selected and randomly divided into control group and observation group, 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with coil embolization, while the observation group was treated with stent assisted coil embolization. And then the efficacy of embolization, the rate of intraoperative complications, the postoperative prognosis, and postoperative adverse reactions of the two groups were compared. Results The effective rate of embolization in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group (100.0% vs.82.5%) (P 0.05); 3 months after treatment, the prognosis MRS score and adverse reactions of the observation group were better than those of control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Conclusion The effect of stent assisted coil embolization in the treatment of wide neck aneurysm is good, safe and effective, worthy of clinical application. Key words: Stent; Coil; Embolization; Aneurysm
