Abstract

The thermal relaxation limits to a finite value the initial heat-flux when connecting two mediums, as a dynamic contact resistance would do. This effect is applied to the study of thermal accommodation between a gas and a solid wall. The theoretical results are compared to the thermograms obtained when a shock wave is reflecting on a thin film resistance gauge.
