Abstract

Angular distributions and polarization of $\ensuremath{\beta}$ particles are considered on the basis of the most general assumption possible regarding the form of the interaction operator, including effects due to Coulomb field and finiteness of nuclear dimensions. Results are obtained for allowed transitions, first-order forbidden transitions in intermediate and heavy nuclei (Coulomb transitions), unique transitions [$\ensuremath{\Delta}j=2$ (yes)], and 0 \ensuremath{\rightarrow} 0 (yes) transitions.
