Abstract

We have performed angle-resolved photoemission measurements on Zn-doped La 2− x Sr x CuO 4 in order to investigate the effects of Zn impurities on the quasi-particle (QP) structure. The widths of the momentum distribution curves (MDCs) showed an energy-independent increased by the Zn substitution in the low energy scale (∼70 meV). The observed strong broadening of the MDC width was generally consistent with the dramatic increase of the residual resistivity by the Zn impurities.
