Abstract
The transition temperature to the low-temperature tetragonal structure T d2 has been investigated for La 1.875Ba 0.125Cu 1−yZn yO 4. It has been revealed that T d2 is almost constant at least up to Zn content of y=0.06. The low-temperature tetragonal structure is neither enhanced nor suppressed by a small amount of Zn doping for the Cu site. This is in contrast to the structural transition at higher temperature, which is enhanced by the Zn doping.
