Abstract

The effects of Crotalus atrox venom on the transmembrane potentials of isolated cardiac Purkinje fibers and ventricular papillary muscles and the effect of venom on papillary muscle contractions were investigated. Based on the data collected, it appears that cardiac tissue is relatively resistant to the direct effects of the venom.
