Abstract

Objective To explore the effects of Wechat based transitional care in patients with radical operation for carcinoma of stomach. Methods From June 2015 to June 2016, we selected 90 patients with radical operation for carcinoma of stomach in Tumor Surgery of Qinghai Provincial People's Hospital as subjects by convenience sampling. All of the patients were divided into control group and observation group with the random number table, 45 cases in each group. Patients of control group received routine nursing, while patients of observation group were treated with transitional care based on Wechat lasting for one year. The intervention effects were compared with the Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA) , Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) , the Exercise of Self-care Agency Scale (ESCA) , the Quality of Life Questionnaire-Core 30 (EORTC QLQ-C30) before and after intervention. Results After intervention, the scores of HAMA and HAMD of patients were (16.53±3.24) and (14.55±3.83) respectively in observation group lower than those in control group with significant differences (t=7.086, 6.192; P<0.01) . After intervention, the scores of ESCA and general health of EORTC QLQ-C30 were (126.89±13.75) and (78.58±11.42) respectively of patients in observation group significantly higher than those in control group (t=6.543, 3.056; P<0.05) . Conclusions The application of Wechat in transitional care for patients with radical operation for carcinoma of stomach can relieve negative emotions and improve their self-care agency as well as life quality. Key words: Stomach neoplasms; Wechat; Transitional care
