Abstract

Nutritional therapy is fundamental in the treatment ofcardiovascular disease. Studies that utilized a low-fat dietsupplemented with 64 grams/day of walnuts have showna significant reduction in serum levels of total and LDLcholesterol, and triglycerides. This study was designed tosee if lipoprotein subclasses varied in patients eating alow-fat walnut supplemented diet.
