Abstract

Introduction: Vitamin D deficiency (VDD) is common in chronic liver diseases (CLD), and and we have demonstrated that unfavorable genetic polymorphisms of genes controlling vitamin D metabolism are associated with increased liver stiffness in CLD patients (Grünhage et al. Hepatology 2012). Our aim now was to analyse CLD patients with respect to vitamin D and liver phenotypes.
