Abstract

In view of character-based and relation-based perspectives, a theoretical model of the effects of trust in team leader on performance of knowledge employees was put forward. 519 leader-subordinate dyads from knowledge-based work teams of high-tech organization were used to test the model by SPSS11.5 and LISREL 8.30. The results indicated that the reliabilities and validities of all the measures were well. Both of cognition-based and affect-based trust in team leader had positive effects on organizational citizenship behavior and task performance of knowledge employees. Comparing with cognition-based trust in team leader, affect-based trust had stronger effects on employee's organizational citizenship behavior and task performance.
