Abstract

Objective To explore the influences of transtheoretical intervention on the quality of life and self-care ability of patients with laryngeal cancer. Methods A total of 87 patients who were diagnosed as laryngeal cancer from the ENT department of a certain third-grade class-A hospital were selected as the research objects and the standard control was carried out.The patients of the control group received conventional nursing, while the patients of the the observation group received the transtheoretical model of nursing intervention based on the conventional care.After 6 months, the intervention effect was evaluated by the self nursing ability scale and the Chinese head and neck cancer quality of life scale (QLICP-HN). Results The self-care ability and quality of life of the patients of the observation group were significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.01). Conclusions The nursing intervention based on the transtheoretical model can effectively improve the quality of life and self-care ability of patients with laryngeal cancer.
