Abstract

Porcelain disks were tested in three topical fluoride preparations to determine if glazed porcelain surfaces suffered untoward effects. Tap water was used as a control. The only disks damaged were those immersed in acidulated phosphate fluoride gel. Acidulated phosphate fluoride gel should not be used where glazed porcelain restorations are present.
