Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of tiotropium bromide combined with seretide on patients with bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Methods A total of 88 patients with bronchial asthma and COPD admitted to Taigang General Hospital from July 2016 to October 2017 were divided into observation group (44 cases) and control group (44 cases) according to random number table method. Patients in control group were treated with routine seretide, while patients in observation group were treated with tiotropium bromide combined with seretide. The pulmonary function indexes, acute exacerbation and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The levels of forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1), peak respiratory flow (PEF) and ratio of FEV1 to forced vital capacity (FEV1/FVC) after treatment in observation group were higher than those in control group (P 0.05). Compared with control group, the interval of reccurrence was shorter and the number of seizures was less in observation group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusions Tiotropium bromide combined with seretide is effective in the treatment of bronchial asthma with COPD, which can effectively improve the pulmonary function and alleviate acute exacerbation. Key words: Bronchial asthma; Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; Tiotropium bromide; Seretide; Pulmonary function; Acute exacerbation
