Abstract
ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of the Re-Mission video game on the fatigue and quality of life of adolescents diagnosed with cancer. A total of 46 adolescents aged who received inpatient chemotherapy treatment in the pediatric hematology clinic were enrolled in the study. The data were obtained by using the Personal Information Form, Scale for the Assessment of Fatigue in Pediatric Oncology Patients Aged 13–18 and Quality of Life scale. Intergroup comparisons demonstrated that there was a significant difference between the experimental and control groups in terms of their mean scores for the overall Scale for the Assessment of Fatigue and Quality of Life calculated at the baseline of the study and one month and three months. The use of Re-mission video game positively affected levels of fatigue and quality of life of adolescents aged between 13 and 18 diagnosed with cancer.
