Abstract

The effect of temperature on the response properties of primary auditory fibres in caiman was studied. The head temperature was varied over the range of 10–35 ° C while the body was kept at a standard temperature of 27 °C (Ts). The temperature effects observed on auditory afferents were fully reversible. Below 11 °C the neural firing ceased.
