Abstract

Background: Epidemiological findings suggest a relationship between MS and several cardiovascular comorbidities, including obesity, insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, and hypertension; the latter being associated with worse clinical and radiological outcomes. However, the mechanisms linking MS severity and elevated blood pressure are poorly understood. We hypothesize that elevated blood pressure contributes to MS progression by affecting white and grey matter integrity.
