Abstract

The Langmuir—Freundlich equation, discussed theoretically by Dabrowski et al. [ J. Colloid Interface Science 69, 287 (1979)] can be used to describe experimental adsorption systems. According to this treatment, three parameters characterize an adsorption system: average difference of adsorption energies of both components, a heterogeneity parameter, and the capacity of the surface phase. For 18 experimental adsorption systems, available from the literature, these parameters have been determined.
