Abstract

A soft magnetic Fe76Si9B10P5 glassy bulk material was prepared by the spark plasma sintering technique below the glass transition temperature. The glassy powders were consolidated into bulk forms with relative densities above 98.7%. The sintering parameters were a temperature of 467 °C, a pressure of 600 MPa, a heating rate of 100 °C/min, and a holding time of 6 min while the samples were still in a glassy state. The effects of these parameters on the crystallization and densification of Fe76Si9B10P5 were investigated by X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry.
