Abstract

The purpose of the present study is to formulate and test a predictive model that links both shock and job embeddedness to turnover. Participants consisted of 219 part-time MBA students and data were collected via surveys. We tested our model using analyses of Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). Results support the validity of shock and job embeddedness for predicting voluntary turnover. Moreover, our findings suggest multiple routes that link shock and job embeddedness to turnover. Theoretical implications and future research directions were discussed.
