Abstract

Objective To explore the changes of plasma endothelin(ET) as well as the effects of Shenmai in patients with severe acute pancreatitis (SAP).Methods Sixty patients with SAP were collected, and divided into routine treatment group (group A) and Shenmai treatment group (group B).The clinical data and ET levels were analyzed. Results The levels of ET were significantly higher in group A than those in group B at the day 2 and 4 [ ( 80.36 ± 11.05 ) vs (98.18 ± 11.83 ),and (93.63 ± 8.59) vs ( 107.53 ± 9.26) ] ( both P < 0.05 ).The levels of ET were significantly higher in group A than those in group B at the day 7 (76.25 ± 10.81 vs 93.17 ± 12.42,P <0.01 ).There was no significant difference between group A and group B in age, gender, andAPACHE Ⅱ score(all P>0.05).Conclusion Shenmai injection can effectively reduce the plasma levels of ET in SAP patients, and exert its therapeutic effect through improving microcirculation of SAP patients. Key words: Severe acute pancreatitis; Endothelin; Shenmai injection
