Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of Ruanmaijiangzhi mixture on circulating endothelial cells (CECs) of rabbits by artery bypass graft,to explore the significance of changes in CECs in the process of restenosis after artery bypass graft, and the possibility of drugs to improve the endothelial injury. Methods A New Zealand white rabbit model of right common carotid artery bypass graft was constructed.Thereafter,to randomly divided into four groups:model group, control group, middle dose Ruanmaijiangzhi group, high dose Ruanmaijiangzhi group.Eight weeks after dosing, animals blood CECs level were detected by flow cytometry. Results Whether single-labeled CD146 (0.38 ± 0.15,0.12 ± 0.06,0.08 ±0.02) or two markers count CECs (0.14 ±0.11,0.07 ±0.02,0.03 ±0.01),the model group average percentage of CECs are significantly higher than treatment group (P < 0.05).Chinese medicine group has statistically significant for western medicine control group (single-labeled 0.24 ± 0.11,two markers 0.08 ± 0.05) (P < 0.05).Two groups of Ruanmaijiangzhi showed a positive dose-related correlation. Conclusion Chinese medicine Ruanmaijiangzhi mixture could promote the repair of vascular endothelial injury after artery bypass graft, thereby is helpful to improve restenosis after artery bypass graft.
