Abstract

The effects of rolling process on the microstructural and superconducting properties of Ag-sheathed Bi-Pb-Sr-Ca-Cu-O superconducting tapes were investigated. The decrease of the reduction of thickness per pass during cold rolling is very useful in inhibiting the formation of cracks and improving the critical current density of Ag-sheathed BPSCCO tapes. On the other hand, the deformation texture resulting from cold rolling seems dependent on the thickness, but not affected by the amount of deformation in thickness per pass.
