Abstract

Mg-Gd-0.75Er-0.5Zn-0.18Zr alloy was subjected to conventional unidirectional rolling (UR) and cross-rolling (CR), and then annealed at 500°C for 30 min. The experimental results showed that the microstructure of the CR alloy sheet was mostly a fine and uniform equiaxial crystal structure. High degree of recrystallization occurred in both alloys after annealing, and the grains in CR alloy were finer and more uniform, and the texture strength of CR alloy was greatly weakened. The tensile strength of the alloys was reduced after high-temperature annealing, but the elongation was significantly increased, and the strength of the CR alloy sheets remained higher than that of the UR alloy sheets.
