Abstract

Objective To explore the effects of rehabilitation nursing knowledge and functional training in advance on functional rehabilitation of patients with spinal stenosis after operation. Methods 80 patients who underwent lumbar spinal stenosis surgery from January, 2017 to June, 2018 were divided into a control group and an intervention group according to the admission time. The control group was given routine nursing care according to spinal stenosis surgery. The intervention group took rehabilitation nursing knowledge education and function training in advance. The knowledge, rehabilitation training, lumbar function rehabilitation, and health behaviors of both groups were evaluated after operation. Results One week after discharge, the score of mastery of postoperative rehabilitation nursing knowledge and the score of mastery of rehabilitation training activities were higher in the intervention group than in the control group [(68.7±3.6) vs. (63.5±3.7) and (56.7±3.4) vs. (52.8±3.6)], with statistical differences (P < 0.001). The first training time of quadriceps femoris and the straight leg elevation were earlier in the intervention group than in the control group [(4.1±1.2) h vs. (4.9±1.5) h and (14.3±1.5) h vs. (16.5±1.4) h], with statistical differences (P<0.05). 1 and 4 weeks after discharge, the ODI scores of lumbar vertebrae were lower in the intervention group than in the control group [(37.8±6.4) vs. (41.8±6.6) and (34.3±4.3) vs. (36.8±6.4)], with statistical differences (P<0.05). 1 and 4 weeks after discharge, the scores of health behavior were higher in the intervention group than in the control group [(45.8±1.5) vs.(47.4±1.6) and (52.6±1.4) vs.(55.5±1.3)], with statistical differences (P < 0.001). Conclusions Functional rehabilitation training nursing mode in advance can improve the patients’ postoperative rehabilitation nursing knowledge and skills, promote their early postoperative rehabilitation training, reduce the symptoms of lumbar dysfunction, and improve their quality of postoperative lumbar functional rehabilitation.
