Abstract

In this paper, the effects of recycled fine aggregate (RFA) and steel fiber on the compressive and splitting tensile properties of steel fiber reinforced recycled fine aggregate concrete (SFRFAC) were investigated through experiments and micro analysis. A special test device was used to measure the splitting tensile lateral deformation and toughness of SFRFAC specimens. The reason of the effect of RFA on the compressive and splitting tensile properties of SFRFAC was explained by observing the microstructure of recycled fine aggregate concrete (RFAC). In addition, the distribution and quantity of steel fiber in the section of specimens were analyzed to explain the influence of the length and volume fraction of steel fiber on the compressive and splitting tensile properties of SFRFAC. Finally, the calculation formulae for the compressive strength and splitting tensile strength of SFRFAC were proposed, which consider the impacts of replacement ratio of RFA and steel fiber content parameter.1
