Abstract

Objective To explore the effects of psychological intervention on family on function of heroin addicts. Methods 106 patients with heroin addicts were divided into observation group (n = 53) and control group (n = 53) . Both groups received methadone treatment, but patients in the observation group received psy-chological interventions for 1 year. All of cases were tested with Family Assessment Device (FAD) before psycho-logical intervention and 1 year after psychological intervention. Results At the end of psychological intervention, the scores of problem solving, communication, roles, effective responsivenss, effective involvement, behavior control and general function of the observed group were significant lower than that of the control group (t = 2. 14,2.83, 3.32, 2.47, 2.01, 2.27, 2.71, P<0.05 orP<0.01) .Conclusion Psychological intervention could improve family function of heroin addicts.
