Effects of Pre-service Early Childhood Teachers’ Respect for Human Rights and Human Rights Consciousness on Unification Consciousness : Focusing on the Mediating Effects of Acceptance of North Korean Culture

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 예비유아교사의 인권존중과 인권의식이 통일의식에 영향을 주는 과정에서 북한문화 수용성의 매개효과를 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위해 수도권 및 비수도권 유아교육과에 재학 중인 163명을 대상으로 SPSS 20.0과 AMOS 20.0으로 분석하여 집중타당성과 동일성을 확인한 후, 변인간의 구조적 관계를 구조방정식으로 분석하였고 bootstrap 방법으로 매개효과를 검증하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 인권존중, 인권의식, 북한문화 수용성은 통일의식과 통계적으로 유의미한 정적 상관관계가 나타났다. 다만, 인권의식의 인권적 태도는 통일의식과 통계적으로 유의미한 상관관계가 나타나지 않았다. 둘째, 인권존중은 북한문화 수용성과 통일의식에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났으며, 인권의식은 북한문화 수용성에는 영향을 주나 통일의식에는 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 북한문화 수용성은 통일의식에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 인권존중이 통일의식에 영향을 주는 과정에서 북한문화 수용성이 부분 매개하는 것이며, 인권의식이 통일의식에 영향을 주는 과정에서 북한문화 수용성이 완전 매개하는 것이다. 연구결과를 통한 정책적 시사점은 통일정책 수립 시 다양한 정보를 줄 수 있으며, 통일에 대한 사회적 합의를 도출하기 위한 기초자료를 제공한다는 점에서 의의를 갖는다.The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating effect of acceptance of North Korean culture on the relationship between pre-service early childhood teachers’ respect for human rights, human rights consciousness and unification consciousness. The survey data were collected from 163 students majoring in early childhood education at colleges located in capital and non-capital area. Collected data were put to SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 20.0, and convergent validity and the equality were verified. This paper employs structural equation modeling to analyze the survey data and Bootstrap to verify the mediating effect. The results of this study were summarized as follows. First, respect for human rights, human right consciousness and acceptance of North Korean culture were positively correlated with unification consciousness. However attitude to human rights of human rights consciousness was not correlated with unification consciousness. Second, respect for human rights had an effect on acceptance of North Korean culture and unification consciousness. Human rights consciousness affected acceptance of North Korean culture, but it did not affect unification consciousness. Acceptance of North Korean culture had an effect on unification consciousness. These results shows that acceptance of North Korean culture had a partial mediation effect on the path between respect for human rights and unification consciousness, and it had a complete mediation effect on the relationship between human rights consciousness and unification consciousness. This research can be used as the basic data for unification policy and social consensus for reunification of Korea.
