Abstract

In this paper, various aluminium foam/piezoelectric damping composites were prepared by using magnesium niobate, lead zirconate titanate, conductive carbon black, aluminium foam and epoxy resin as raw materials, and the influences of piezoelectric phase content and surface treatment on compressive performance of the prepared composites were investigated. Experimental results showed that the compressive strength of the composites could be effectively improved by using higher content of zirconate titanate or modifying the surface of zirconate titanate to optimise interfacial properties of the composites.
