Abstract

The light lanthanon, cerium (Ce), when administered i.v. (2 mg/kg) to male rats caused changes in serum cholesterol and transaminases, indicating liver injury but failed to elevate these parameters when the rats were pretreated i.p. either with phenobarbital (PB) (80 mg/kg) or ß-naphthoflavone (β-NP) (100 mg/kg).
